SEASONED DEVELOPER

Nam Le

Nam is mostly recognized by his programming skill, but he never saw it as a full time job but most favorite hobby. He has been fortunate enough to work with some exceptional clients on projects that span from small local startup to enterprise level company. As a programmer, if there’s anything he love, it’s a good challenge, big or small, and he firmly believes that if given enough time and resource, he can achieve any goal. This quality made him a brilliant programmer and his ability to think strategically and hold a long term focus while executing each step of his plan with determination and precision make him a powerful leader. This determinations is often a self-fulfilling prophecy, he push his goals through with sheer willpower where others might give up and move on, and he likely to push everyone else right along with him, achieving spectacular results in the process.

My Experience

My coding journey begin with creating websites and templates via Dreamwaver

Then PHP happened, don’t judge me, I still joking with people “Once upon a time, I did PHP for foods”. Nowadays, I only use Python, Java and Javascript for both professional and personal projects.

I been fortune enough to work with a high variance clients, in both terms: market and business size. That opportunity give me a lot of perspective and experience, to help me to make better decisions later.

We rarely (but still) create a traditional web these days. Most of my projects adopted cloud service model to offer more flexibility on frontend development (web app, mobile app, hybrid app, TV app…) and make backend easier to deploy and scale up later.

My day-by-day tasks involved:

  • Meeting with several teams to brainstorm what issue or bottle neck they are facing, or just by schedule to plan or get report.
  • Working with clients as Bridge Engineer/Manager.
  • Review pull request in some special/important branches.
  • Design new structure for next project. Choosing which technology, tools and material will be used, and how to use.
  • Improve old skeleton/seed projects by implement new technology or update patch from real projects.
  • Review then try to improve current workflows.
  • Attend workshop! We had very strict rule, any team/member must host a workshop in circle of 6-8 weeks.
  • Polishing my next workshop.
  • Team building.
